The Weadley and Dalton Families of York, South Africa and the USA

Notes

Sarah Ann Dalton-1090

30 Jan 2005: According to Eira Makepeace, the following Christening is the right one for Sarah Dalton who married John Nicholson 29 Jul 1862 at St Saviour's, York, Yorkshire, England. She has a copy of the certificate, or at least has seen such a copy, which quite plainly state's that Sara's Father is John Dalton, and not Christopher Dalton. So hence the Christening below is the correct one. It also means that anyone claiming descent from the Weadley and Lownsborough families through Sarah Ann Dalton, have been searching the wrong tree, as have I. Perhaps the Two Dalton lines will come together earlier on in the centuries, we shall see.
A possible Christening alternate to that which I had supposed was right. Need to check up the marriage certificate for Sarah Ann to John Wilkinson.

Henry May Weadley-733

Notes from Fred Weadley: Nothing is known of William after he emigrated to Philadelphia, Pa, USA. It is not known if he married, had children, etc...He appears to have been buried in Radner Baptist Church, Delaware, Philadelphia, PA, USA.

Margaret May Weadley-1122

Margaret May Weadley moved with her parents to Philadelphia, USA,about 1830. She married and had children, but their names have been lost track of....

Eliza Weadley-1123

She never married

Charles Weadley-724

On Ancestry.com, there is a pedigree of the Weadley family, which states that for this family, there are 3 more children than what I have. These are:
Elizabeth Born abt 1830 in York
Margaret born abt 1833 in New Tranton, Durham, England
Mary Ann born abt 1840 in York.
They are not on the IGI as of 27 MAr 2002

Henry Weadley-739

Did Henry die at Scarborough??
!If so, then he had a Wife called Anne, And children called Anne (b 1864, at Scarborough)and Diana (Chistened at Scarborough 18 Feb 1844).

John Warneford-755

John was a Widower when he married Elizabeth, but I have yet to find a first marriage.

Here is a family of Warneford's from the 1891 Census of York:

There is mention found the the Registers of Lendal Congregational Chapel, York, of a John and Ann Warneford of the Pavement, York (a Street called Pavement).

They were admitted into the church (by Baptism?) 28 Jul 1823 and John was kicked out 27 Feb 1826 for dishonest transactions in Business at Leeds.
Ann his wife was kicked out for improper conduct.

I do not know if these might be the parents of this John Warneford who married Elizabeth Weadley.

Here is another Warneford Family, but I do not know where they fit in yet:

John Butler Warneford son of John Hartley Warneford and Mary Hartley, Chr 29 Jan 1871 at St Cuthbert's York.
I think possibly that Mary is just Mary, and that possibly Butler is her maiden name.....

James Weadley-740

The 1851 Census states that This family lived at 96, Church Green, Bridlington.

Lucy Weadley-8786

From John Collier:
Hi...I have not come accross these as such but I did come accross them mentioned vaguely .The Scarborough gazette of 13 Sept 1860 mentions that Lucy the YOUNGEST DAUGHTER of James Weadley died in Memphis Tennessee aged 6..His father in law is a Thomas Wilson.....John
