George Fell-4099

Fish Street Independent Church.

~1 Dec 2006: I think that Alison Mildon is related to this family. She did use to live in London, but moved back to New Zealand about 3 or 4 years ago. THere is one possible match in the phone book for New Zealand:
A J Mildon, 7 Priory Close, Burlwood, Christchurch, New Zealand 0064+ 0-3-383-4589.

Alfred Fell-4324

~Alison Milden wrote to me from London yesterday in which she lets me know that he is descended from this Alfred Fell. I have sent her an email in response. She is moving back to New Zealand in about 2-3 months. 7 sep 2001
She was born in New Zealand.

Elizabeth Fell-4048

Polly had husband, and more than 2 children.

Other references indicate this is Elizabeth Ann Anderton, wife ofHyrum James Wells.
The letter below conflicts with this information. She (Elizabeth AnnAnderton) may have been referred to as Lizzy. Based upon below letter,Polly and Lizzy seem to be two different individuals. Polly inEngland, and Lizzy is Hyrum's wife.

From a letter written in 1893 by William R. Wells and H, believed toJoseph Wells and Annie (Baldwin) Wells, "Lizzy and the children arewell, George never writes. News from England not very good. Louis andhis wife and daughter well, your aunts Jane and Hannah Maria well,David. Josephs wife and Toms children dead" and "Polly lost two of herchildren. We send our love to you and your wife and the two finegrandchildren". Later in the letter, "think them fine boys".

The IGI shows her name as Anna Maria.

Hyrum Wells (Twin)-5023

~Re Hyrum's Ordinance dates: The earliest that I can find on the IGI are in 1968 at the Logan Temple. I am surprised that I cannot find earlier dates from the actual 1860's etc which is when we would have expected him to have been baptised.
The dates from Carolyn rOyce are:
Bap 29 Dec 1990 JRIVE
End 5 jan 1991 JRIVE
SP 16 Feb 1991 JRIVE
I am putting in the earlier dates as per the IGI.

~There is a marriage sealing 26 Apr 1991 at JRIVE of a Hyrum James Wells to an Elizabeth Ann Anderton. Yet there is also a sealing of a Hyrum Wells to an Elizabeth Ann Anderton date is 3 Mar 1993 JRIVE. Though we should usually take the earlier date to be the one that counts, because the notes below say that the middle name of James cannot be verified I will take the later date. I am wondering if Hyrum stayed active in the church or not....

No middle name or initial shown on Birth Records. Unable to verify middle name of James.
Twin Brother is Joseph Wells. Fraternal twins based upon a letter from Annie Baldwin to her mother commenting on how much Joseph and Hyrum look alike, not on how hard it is to tell them apart.
Name spelled Hiram on 1870 census.
Born at 2:05 AM 3/29/1854, at home, 21 North Street, Bradford, Yorkshire, England.
The IGI shows the birth location as Hurst Nook, Wigan (Bradford), Yorkshire, England, while Joseph (twin brother) is shown as Bradford, Yorkshire, England. The new IGI (v4.19) shows both locations, plus another using the name Hyrum James Wells.
Source Dunn reports his death in Richfield, Utah.
Burial records report cause of death as Pulmonary.
Date of birth wrong on burial records.
Departed from Bradford to Plymouth, boarded the Monarch of the Sea at Liverpool. Ship left on 28 April 1864, with 974 Latter Day Saints aboard, arriving New York on 3 Jun 1864, after 36 days at sea. Departed from New York to Wyoming, Nebraska (south of Omaha) where the Mormon Wagon Trains were assembled for the trip to Salt Lake City. 9 different Wagon Trains departed between June 5th and mid August, arriving between 26 August and 2 Nov in SLC. Most without rosters of members. A total of 2403 people
The ships roster shows the following Wells aboard: Alfred, Louis, Henrietta, Hyrum, Joseph, George, Mary Ann, and William. The entry for Louis Wells is beleived not to be part of the family, as ttheir Louis remained in England.
Source Royce shows 31 May 1968 at Logan

24 July 2001 I received an email from Dick Wells who is my 4th cousin twice removed about the Wells family, so I sent him all that I had on the Wells line and his ancestry also. Dick is also the 3rd cousin of Carolyn Ingledew Royce, and they had dinner recently, possibly yesterday, and I assume that this is how he got my email address. Anyway, it is good to hear from him. I have put in a request for info about who are / was members of the church..........Hopefully he is.......if not, I hope that it does not matter to him that I am .

Elizabeth Ann Anderton-3806

She may have been known as Lizzy.
Letter from Annie Baldwin Wells to her mother, dated 4/23/1890, stated Lizzy is expected to deliver next month.
Source Royce reports the LDS Ordinance dates were done again in 1991 at Jordan River.
During 1900 Census, she reports a total of 6 children, with 5 still living. Either this is in error or Earl or the first Lillian does not belong to the family.
