Well neither of these two seem to fit, now that I have found more children. There is another marriage which may fit, and that is to Sarah Birkbeck 3 May 1764, 'Of Settle', Yorkshire. Settle is a long way away form Hull, but perhaps that is what happened!?
Is Arthur's wife Nora whoo died 3 oct 1988 aged 90 years?? Is she a second wife?? taken from the Yorkshire Evening Press dated 4 Oct 1988, page 2. She died on the 3 Oct and was due to be cremated on the 4th October, at the York Crematorium.

Edith is the daughter of John Vevers. John was a Railway Servant. Edith was living at 37, Layerthorpe, York
whenshe got married.

John Bewley Vevers born 1915 in either York or Doncaser, living at 28, S Anne's Rd, York when he married his wife, on the 4 Nov 1940 at Holy Trinity Heworth, York. His Father was John Graham Vevers, who was an Independant (M.P.??) His mothers maiden name is Bewley. His birth is registered at Whitehaven, Vol 10 B page 1398, though I forget which quarter of the year he was registered in! He was a Soldier.
He married Kathlen Mary Wright, born 3rd quarter 1916, at York, Vol 9d page 40. Her father is Robert Alfred Wright, and her mothers maiden name is Backhouse. Her father was a Director (Of theatre??)
He was a publican. His birth date is based on his daughter's birth date, and could well be wrong.
Nolana (Lan) was living at 12 Railway Terrace at the time of his death.
