John Arthur Carpenter-821

I have a note which states that John Carpenter died after he reaached 74 years of age, though I am not entriely sure whether this applies to John Arthur or John Hicks Carpenter. I think it is more likely to be the former.

Elsie Prudence Helps-819

Lived at 3 Orchard St, York at the time of her marriage.

Harry Bootland Hope-822

I have a note which states that Harry and his wife had 2 children , 1 boy and 1 Girl, though that is all I know about them; I do not know where I obtained this information.

John Hicks Carpenter-2559

There are only two Carpenters on the 1881 Census for Yorkshire who have an H as a middle initial. Could this be the father of John Arthur Carpenter??

Henry Hope-2565

22 July 2005. I have found them on the 1891 Census, and noticed that his next door neighbour is called William Hope, and William is one year older than Henry. Also, William Hope is a blacksmith, and was born 1 year before Henry. THis second couple do not appear to have had any children.

12 Jun 2005: I have found a marriage of a Henry Hope on FreeBMD which could be a former marriage of Henry's before he married Elizabeth Bootland? A Henry Hope married either Elizabeth Boyes or Elizabeth Hudson in York 3rd Quarter 1878 Vol 9d Page 69. Now seeing that the first child is names Joseph Edward Boyes Hope, is he the child of the possible marriage mentioned? And if so,and if Elizabeth Boyes died before the birth of Henry's third child, is that why the third child was called Henry Bootland Hope?
Or did the first Elizabeth (Boyes) die before Joseph Edward Boyes Hope was even born, but that Henry named his son such in memory of his first wife?

1 May 2004: It appears that I might have found Henry's Birth in the indexes:
Jun quarter 1845 Henry Hope, Gateshead, Vol 24 Page 176. Might this be the right peson.

Henry was a Chainmaker at the local Ironworks. The 1871 Census states that he was born in Gateshead, Co Durham which a few miles east of Winlaton where another census says he was born.
!Henry was living on Heworth Road, York at the time of the 1871 Census.

I need to find the names of the children on the Birth indexes, so I can tie down the quarter of the year in which they were born, and also, in the hope that I can get their full names, rather than just have an initial.
